Erie Canalway Trail

Beginning at Gateway Harbor Park, this section of the Empire State Trail follows the south side of the Erie Canal toward Amherst. The 11-mile route offers canal views and is primarily paved and separated from vehicle traffic, making it accessible to walkers and cyclists of different abilities.

Niawanda Park and Riverwalk

Follow the waterfront west toward Niawanda Park for views of the Niagara River, open green space, picnic areas and beautiful sunsets. The trail is ideal for walking, running, cycling and relaxing beside the water.
